Novak Djokovic has shocked the tennis world by suddenly retiring from his semi-final against German star Alexander Zverev after hitting a put away volley into the net.
The pair had played for 81 minutes at Rod Laver Arena before a gasp rang out when Djokovic uncharacteristically butchered a simple volley to lose the opening set.
