⚠️Tonight’s key playoff implications⚠️
- The Clippers, Warriors, and Timberwolves are all in action today and hold the No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8 seeds in the West, respectively. They’re also just 0.5 games apart from each other, with the Clippers and Warriors deadlocked, sharing a 42-31 record, while the Timberwolves at 42-32 have an extra loss. These teams are likely to switch places multiple times between now and the end of the regular season in two weeks, and depending on how tonight’s games shake out, we could see some shuffling tonight.
- The Rockets and the Suns will square off on NBA TV to cap Sunday’s slate of games, with Houston looking to gain a firmer grasp on their seeding while Phoenix is trying to move into a play-in spot. With a win, the Rockets would gain a two-game advantage on the Nuggets for the No. 2 seed in the West, while a win for the Suns would move them within 0.5 games of the Kings for the No. 10 seed.
- Two weeks ago today, Milwaukee was No. 4 in the East. Since then, they have gone 2-4, including losing three straight, and have had to sideline Damian Lillard indefinitely due to a blood clot in his calf. Now, they sit in the No. 6 spot, 2.5 games out of the No. 4 seed they previously held and 1.5 games behind the No. 5 Pistons. Tonight, they’ll host Atlanta, who are in a battle of their own, now behind Orlando for the No. 7 seed and the rights to host a play-in game against them.
