If there was any player with motivation to help Celtic FC take down Bayern Munich in the Champions League, it was former Bayern prospect Nicolas Kühn.
Kühn almost scored in the first leg and also had another chance earlier in the match, but the 25-year-old finally struck gold in the 63rd minute to put Celtic up 1-0 — and put Bayern Munich firmly in danger of elimination of the Champions League.
For Kühn, it was a “dream come true.”
“Scoring at Allianz Arena in front of 75,000 spectators is a little dream come true for me. It’s something that will take time to sink in. The result is a bitter pill to swallow. To concede like that in the 94th minute is tough to take,” said Kühn (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Ultimately, Alphonso Davies knotted the game to prevent from going into extra time, where fate could have been very fickle. Bayern Munich will now face Bayer Leverkusen or Atlético Madrid.
