Giannis Antetokounmpo (98.3) had the highest single-game fantasy score of the 2024-25 season.
The sun sets on a rollercoaster of a regular season, and with it comes the close of a similarly up-and-down year for fantasy general managers.
A stretch of 25 weeks and 173 days is over. Countless transactions, salary changes, injuries, league races and captain’s chips are all in the rearview mirror.
Now that the dust has settled, here’s a look at the global podium and top moments as we enter this time for reflection:
The champion
Adrian Siarkiewicz of Poland reached the pinnacle with ‘Bękarty Basketu,’ tallying 28817.9 fantasy points in all to secure gold. Among the 135,735 people that joined the game this season, he emerged alone on the mountaintop, producing a roster value of 104.1, making 49 transactions and leaving $0.6M in the bank.
His approach proved to be masterful. Siarkiewicz maintained an efficient combination of stars and bargains, making the right moves at the right times to keep productive players at his disposal. He finished with a +287.1 margin of victory, beating out Aurelien Roulet of France’s ‘Beliiiigou’ (28530.8) and Adam Boustani of the United Kingdom’s ‘Dima Maghreb’ (28377.5).
Headlining Siarkiewicz’s championship roster was the trio of Nikola Jokić, Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden. They finished No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in total fantasy points (TFP) and accounted for 11904.2 points – 41.3% of the team’s total output. Jokić and Antetokounmpo combined for a particularly potent 121.7 fantasy points per game (FPPG).
But this season’s fantasy victor also capitalized on low-salary players. Quentin Grimes, Dyson Daniels, Ty Jerome and Naji Marshall all featured on Siarkiewicz’s crew and ranked in the top 24 league-wide for value. Finest among them were Grimes (No. 1) and Daniels (No. 8), who cost only $14.2M as a pair while submitting 4776.6 points.
Rounding out the group was Austin Reaves (2631.8 points for $11.9M), Zach Edey (1640.1 for 6.1) and Kel’el Ware (1525.6 for 6.1). They came in at No. 36, No. 119 and No. 148, respectively, among all players for TFP.
Nights to remember
There were a series of unforgettable moments in 2024-25. Some performances just left us in sheer awe, exceeding even the wildest hopes and dreams of fantasy general managers.
Antetokounmpo leads the highlight reel with an outing he submitted way back on November 13. That night, he tallied 98.3 fantasy points in a 127-120 overtime victory for the Milwaukee Bucks over the Detroit Pistons, marking the highest single-game fantasy score of the season. He pitched in 59 points – the second-most of his career – 14 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and two steals.
Something was in the water that week. Just two days later, De’Aaron Fox became the first – one of only two, when all was said and done – to drop 60 this campaign. Then playing for the Sacramento Kings, the eighth-year guard accounted for 80.1 fantasy points in a 130-126 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. His three rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals to complement the 60-piece wound up as the only occasion he reached 70.0 in fantasy.
Then on Jan. 23 came Jokić’s finest hour. The 10th-year center accumulated 94.9 fantasy points – his season high – for the Denver Nuggets in a 132-123 triumph over the Kings. In 37 minutes, he racked up 35 points, 22 rebounds, 17 assists, two blocks and a steal. But that remarkably well-rounded effort merely set the stage for even more minds to be blown.
The three-time MVP piled points up to 94.2 on March 7 in a 149-141 overtime win against the Phoenix Suns, then turned heads once again on April 1, putting up 90.0 in a 140-139 double-overtime loss to the Timberwolves. Both were unprecedented – the former being the first 31-point, 21-rebound, 22-assist triple-double in NBA History, and the latter being a first-of-its-kind 61-10-10 triple-double.
April Fool’s Day had more in store. Stephen Curry assembled one of the best outings of his career at 37 years old with 92.0 fantasy points for the Golden State Warriors in a 134-125 win versus the Memphis Grizzlies. The 11-time all-star was responsible for 52 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, one block and five steals in all, though his 56 scored back on Feb. 27 tied for the fourth-highest single-game showing of the season.
