Australian Open 2025 – Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev head-to-head
In their six meetings dating back to 2020, it is the Tokyo 2020 gold medallist from 2021, Zverev, who leads with four victories including their two meetings on a Grand Slam hard court.
The German has twice defeated Sinner at the US Open in the round of 16, most recently at the 2023 edition where the Hamburg man triumphed in a five-set thriller to claim his fourth consecutive win against the world number one.
That was however Zverev’s last win against the Italian, who has the most recent victory in their rivalry, back at last year’s Cincinnati Open.
Sinner beat Zverev in a dramatic semi-final which went to three sets and two tiebreaks, where the Italian then went on to lift the ATP Masters 1000 title.
The 23-year-old also won their first encounter, at the 2020 French Open; Sinner defeated his counterpart 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the round of 16 on the red clay of Roland-Garros.
So, while Zverev’s leads their head-to-head record 4-2 overall, he’s only lost once against Sinner on hard courts.
