The first day of the 2025 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships (formerly British Swimming Championships) saw six-time Olympic medallist James Guy claim the title in the men’s 400m freestyle, the same event he won world silver in 2015. Guy is still the national record holder, courtesy of the 3:43.75 he notched up during that race.
Guy, who returned to the event for the first time since the 2018 Commonwealth Games, finished the distance in a time of 3:46.64, with Tyler Melbourne-Smith in second (3:49.38) and Jack McMillan, third (3:50.05).
