“Dub Dynasty” is a 10-episode narrative podcast hosted by Israel Gutierrez, covering the behind-the-scenes story of the Golden State Warriors’ run over the last 10 years. The show chronicles the indelible impact on basketball, overcoming challenges and becoming one of the greatest dynasties in modern sports.
The first episode airs on April 8 and new episodes will drop every Tuesday for the next nine weeks.
“What I learned about the Warriors dynasty was just how player-friendly the organization is. It’s a reflection of Steve Kerr and the front office,” said Gutierrez.
“Organizations (not just players) win championships and it’s true for Golden State.”
The nine-episode series features an extensive guest list, including Steve Kerr, Chris Mullin, Kevin Love, Trae Young, David Lee, Andrew Bogut, DeMarcus Cousins, Rachel Nichols, Mike Breen, Kevon Looney, Javale McGee and Andrew Wiggins.
“My favorite interview of them all was Andrew Bogut, because of how blunt and efficient he is with his words. His level of recall was so good and the honesty about what went on in the locker room was great,” Gutierrez said.
The podcast will cover everything from the 2015 championship to the present day, with Curry playing an integral part in bridging everything together.
“Steph Curry is almost alien with his physical ability, on top of all that you get confirmation over and over again that he is an incredible human being. His connection with people is real even if his physical skills seem fake,” Gutierrez said.
After thoroughly examining every aspect of the Warriors dynasty, Gutierrez believes we won’t witness anything like it for a long time.
“Dub Dynasty” is a production of iHeartMedia and the NBA.
