Netflix has released the official mature-rated trailer for American Primeval, the six-episode limited Western drama scheduled to drop on January 9. Described as “a raw, adventurous exploration of the birth of the American West,” American Primeval features the violent collisions of cultures, religions and communities as men and women fight and die for control of this new world – for a land they truly believe is their destiny. The ensemble tells a story of the sacrifice all must pay when they choose to enter a lawless and untamed wilderness.
Taylor Kitsch stars as Isaac, a traumatized man who, per the logline, is “struggling to overcome his demons and find a reason to live in this brutal and punishing world.”
From director/executive producer Pete Berg, writer/creator/executive producer Mark L. Smith, and executive producers Eric Newman and Alex Gayner, American Primeval also stars Betty Gilpin, Dane DeHaan, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Derek Hinkey, Joe Tippett, Jai Courtney, Preston Mota, Shawnee Pourier, and Shea Whigham.
