The Portland Trail Blazers came away with a 125-112 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night to keep Damian Lillard winless as a visitor to Moda Center. The Blazers were led by the 30 points of Deni Avdija. On the other side, the superstar duo of Dame and Giannis Antetokounmpo combined for 59 points, with Lillard getting 20 and Giannis having 39.
Blazer of the Game: Deni Avdija, again. Avdija has been consistently great for weeks and this game was no different. His 30 points led Portland. He added 9 rebounds and a pair of steals on top of it. He did all this while shooting 10-18 from the field and 3-7 from three-point range. His ability to get to the free throw line basically at will was on full display tonight as he made 7 of 9 attempts from the line.
Stat of the Night: 52-36 rebounding difference. The Blazers were dominant on the glass tonight, leading to a 16 rebound advantage. Deandre Ayton led the team with 14 boards, backed up by the 11 of Toumani Camara and 9 from Avdija. Portland also snagged 17 offensive rebounds, which allowed them to accrue 17 second chance points.
What we’ll remember: Another spoiled homecoming. Damian Lillard is now 0-2 as a visitor to the Moda Center. The Blazers keep finding a way to limit his production and keep him from adding another win to his massive total in Portland. The Blazers endured Lillard’s 20-point performance on 7-17 shooting, coming away with the win once again.
What’s Next: The Magic come to town. Portland will look to complete the season sweep against the Orlando Magic on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
