Scream 7 adds to its star-studded cast by adding one of the most recognizable faces on the daytime talk show circuit. The anticipated slasher sequel sees award-winning host Mark Consuelos become the latest name to join the project.
According to Deadline, Live with Kelly & Mark co-host Mark Consuelos, also known for Riverdale, has joined the Scream 7 cast in an undisclosed role. Consuelos won his first Emmy Award last year for his work on Live with Kelly & Mark alongside his wife and talk show veteran, Kelly Ripa.

Scream 7 just announced the casting of a major star in an important new role–however, it undermines something set up in a previous film.
While Consuelos has garnered more recent acclaim for his talk show exploits, the Spaniard has enjoyed a 30-year acting career dating back to his award-winning run on the popular soap opera, All My Children. He has also enjoyed starring roles in Missing, American Horror Story: Asylum, Alpha House and Riverdale, where he portrayed the antagonistic Hiram Lodge. Consuelos’ most recent acting credits have been in the Max political drama, The Girls on the Bus, and the Disney animated series, Primos.
The Scream 7 Cast Continues to Grow
The Scream 7 cast has been shaping up nicely since returning franchise star Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) confirmed the sequel was happening last year and that film series brainchild Kevin Williamson would direct. Several familiar faces will return alongside Campbell for the latest Scream installment, including Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin) and Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin). Meanwhile, some of the newbies introduced to the franchise for Scream 7 include Ghostbusters franchise stars Celeste O’Connor and McKenna Grace, True Blood‘s Anna Camp, Gen V‘s Asa Germann and Yellowstone franchise actor Isabel May. Meanwhile, the upcoming blockbuster cast Community and Animal Control star Joel McHale to play Sidney’s husband after missing the chance to bring back Scream alum Patrick Dempsey.

Scream 7 began principal photography earlier this month, getting cameras rolling after a turbulent pre-production stretch. Scream 7 was initially supposed to feature Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega after the duo portrayed sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter in the last two sequels. However, Barrera’s firing from the franchise due to social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict began a domino effect for the film, with Ortega withdrawing from Scream 7 a day after, owing to scheduling conflicts. There were also lots of changes in the director’s chair, with Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett) leaving after Scream VI and their initial replacement, Christopher Landon, departing the project after a few months due to backstage chaos.
The next Scream film centers around Campbell’s character, with the Canadian actor returning to the franchise after skipping Scream VI due to a pay dispute. The sequel will take a time jump, with Sidney and her family taking centerstage as Ghostface looks to wreak havoc once more.
Scream 7 opens in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.
