STORY: :: Israeli protesters and relatives of Israeli hostages
call for the release of all remaining captives
:: January 25, 2025
:: Tel Aviv, Israel
:: Efrat Machikawa, Relative of hostage Gadi Moses
”There are a few seconds where you feel so happy that it almost feels like euphoria but then we’re back to reality. There is nothing complete until every last hostage is coming home. And really the pace is very challenging. I would even say torturing.”
:: Yoella Tavor, Protester
”…we don’t feel that the mission is complete until all our hostages are back at home. And we are here on one hand to support and to be happy with the families that got all their daughters back today. And also to tell all the other families that we are with them and we won’t leave them and we’ll keep fighting and supporting them until everybody is back home in Israel. And no one should stay in Gaza. No one.”
Earlier on Saturday Hamas freed four female Israeli soldiers in exchange for 200 Palestinian prisoners in the second swap under the ceasefire deal in Gaza.
But 90 hostages remain in Gaza after they were abducted in a Hamas militant attack on Israel on October 7 2023, according to Israeli authorities, who have declared around a third of them dead in absentia.
